Post-Kagaribi All-Time Rankings

Welcome to the second ever Luminosity All-Time Rankings, presented by LG SchuStats!

These rankings are up to date to May 12, 2025, with the last major tournament counted being Kowloon #16. If you’re wondering how players accumulate points, there is a detailed methodology document here.

This is an update to the Greatest SSBU Players of All-Time that I made back in February. Check out the article for that here. At the beginning of May, the most stacked tournament of all-time, Kagaribi 13, took place in Saitama, Japan. With 44 out of the current top 50 players in attendance, it blew every previous tournament out of the water.

This tournament was so monumental it only made sense to update the All-Time rankings. After an overwhelming affirmative response to a Twitter poll confirmed this, I made it!

Since this is an update, I’ve added a column that shows the change in rank players had since the one in February. Because this is so focused on Kagaribi, I’ve also added asterisks denoting every player in attendance at Kagaribi. Keep in mind that this takes into account all tournaments since Genesis X2, not just Kagaribi.

In the graphic, each player has the character they gained the most points while using as their full character render. Below that is the stock icons of characters they also gained a significant amount of points while using. Note that character data has absolutely no impact on a player’s points. I’m going to use the character a player gained the most points while using(the one with the full character render) as their “main” for the sake of this article and the rest as that player being a representative of that character.

Here are some interesting stats for the top 500 greatest Smash Ultimate players of all time:

Out of the 83 characters in smash ultimate, 77 of them had at least one player in the top 500 main that character! The other 6 were Marth, Pit/Dark Pit, Mii Swordfighter, Incineroar, Ganondorf and Random. Marth and Pit/Dark Pit had representatives in the top 500, but the other four didn’t have a single representative in the top 500.
