LumiRank 2024.1 Release Schedule and Honorable Mentions
Welcome to LumiRank 2024.1, the premier Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ranking for the first half of 2024. Join us this week as we reveal the 50 players who went above and beyond the competition over the past several months.
This season’s date range spans from December 18th, 2023 to July 15th, 2024. All in all, 1,046 tournaments were counted for the rankings, with 37,563 players showing up to play 166,152 sets. It was another incredible year for Smash Ultimate, and if you ran a tournament, participated in a tournament, or even watched a tournament, we thank you for keeping the game that we love as healthy as ever.
Please note that there will be no full-year ranking for 2024, and the ranking released at the end of the year will only represent the second half of 2024. As such, LumiRank 2024.1 will put a cap on the first half of this exciting year.
LumiRank will be revealing 10 placements a day, with accompanying video, over the following week. You can keep up to date with all things LumiRank, including supplementary materials outside of the top 50, at https://twitter.com/LumiRank.

Honorable Mentions
The following players, though accomplished in their own rights, unfortunately did not meet the attendance requirements to be properly ranked. However, we still felt it pertinent to recognize these players who put up top 50-level results throughout the course of the season.
For almost the entirety of Smash Ultimate, Kameme has been a consistent threat to be reckoned with. In 2024, neither the consistent part changed, as Kameme did not drop a set vs anyone ranked below the top 20, nor did the threat part, as he scored wins over several top players. The only thing that changed was his attendance, as the single father only managed to make it out to two tournaments this season.
However, while the two tournaments he showed up to are not enough to qualify him for this season’s LumiRank, it was more than enough to make the statement that even at his busiest, Kameme is not going anywhere. While the Golden Week Kagaribi saw him finishing a respectable 17th with losses to Yaura and Raru, Umebura SP 10 at the start of the year was where he truly shone.
After barely fending off French invader Raflow utilizing his rarely seen Sheik, Kameme defeated zackray, Yoshidora, Doramigi and KEN to place 4th at the Premier event. This long list of wins more than shows that Kameme still has what it takes to hang with the younger top players, even as fatherhood clearly takes priority for now.
While his current appearances are few and far between, look forward to watching Kameme’s exciting gameplay whenever he does make one!

DDee might be one of the most volatile players to have touched the game. While he did not quite make the top 50 due to attendance, it’s clear that the Georgia Steve is among his fellow Georgians, Kola and Wrath, in the top 50 in terms of skill. His attendance was only 2 events, of those only one was a major. Despite this, his dominance in some matchups and overall knowledge of what to do is something that even some top 20 players wish they had.
His only major of the tournament was Collision, where he was one of the 3 big Georgia players traveling to Jersey. DDee made it through pools very easily, only dropping a single game to Tennessee’s Dany, however this run in winner’s would end after getting upset by Jakal in a game 5 situation. DDee did not give up hope, and despite a very rough path, he managed to push his way through Aaron, IcyMist, the number 1 seed Tweek, and Riddles. His only other tournament of the season was in-region Keep It REAL. While a lot less stacked, he would win this tournament only dropping a game to his round 1.
DDee is the future of the game, whether you like it or not. He consistently shatters everyone’s expectations and does it while staying low on the radar. It would be no surprise to see him achieve the top 20 in future seasons.
