Please join us in welcoming Matthew “FormaL” Piper to the LG Call of Duty team.  Formal will be taking over for the departing Samuel “Octane” Larew’s on the starting roster, effective immediately.  We want to thank Octane for all of the memories we created together during his time with the organization and we wish him well in the next chapter of what will surely be a long, successful career.

Formal started his professional career as a Halo player where he established himself as one of the best in the World.  He transitioned to Call of Duty in November of 2013 and is now known as arguably the best player in the World having amassed over half a million dollars in prize money and more first place finishes than we can count.  He was also the first professional FPS player to win a major offline event in both Call of Duty and Halo.  He further cemented his place in Call of Duty history when he won the 2017 Call of Duty World Championship and taking home the grand prize of $600,000.

“When I first heard about the potential to have Formal on the team, I thought I was being pranked.  Optic had been together for several years and enjoyed an unimaginable amount of success as a four.  As a fan of the game myself, it came as a surprise.  I have vivid memories of our matches against Optic where I thought we were on a sure path to victory and Formal would change gears and take over the game.  The man is an absolute beast and I believe he will flourish playing alongside John, Jkap and Slacked.  I have no doubt his transition will be seamless and it won’t be long before he’s lifting trophies as a member of Luminosity Gaming.” – Steve Maida, Founder

The current Call of Duty roster is as follows:

Matthew “FormaL” Piper
Johnathon “John” Perez
Jordan “Jkap” Kaplan
Josiah “Slacked” Berry

You can catch the boys in action next at the CWL Pro League - Stage 2 - Group Play on May 29th in Columbus, OH at the MLG Arena.
