Effective today, Luminosity Gaming is releasing Jani "Tseini" Kähkönen from its Overwatch team. The organization would like to thank Tseini for his dedication, excellent attitude and terrific performances.

"Tseini joined us shortly after the team formed under the 2stroNk name, and he was a key cog during our climb in the world rankings. Unfortunately, we have hit a bump in the road in recent months. Overlapping hero pools had players making concessions while trying to learn unfamiliar roles/heroes, and after plenty of experimenting the team decided it was time for a change. Tseini is a fantastic DPS player with star potential, and I have no doubt he'll find a fit elsewhere in this young Overwatch scene. We all wish him the best of luck in his next endeavor." - team captain Vytis "Mineral" Lasaitis

We would also like to give a warm welcome to Alexandre "SPREE" Vanhomwegen, who will join the starting roster. SPREE, previously of team NWA, has turned heads with his stellar tank play, and he will fill a crucial void within the team.

"SPREE has slowly but steadily made his name known in the top-end Overwatch community over the last month or so, both when it comes to tournament play and the ranked ladder. We firmly believe he is more than ready and very deserving of becoming a full time professional player, and we couldn't be happier to have him onboard.  He is a very strong Zarya, but his potential as an all-around talent is what is truly exciting. I'm really happy that our visions alligned, since he was our first choice, and I'm ecstatic to have him as a teammate." – Mineral

“Making roster changes is never easy, especially when it involves such a genuine and talented person like Tseini.  I think I speak for the entire team when I say we wish this wasn’t necessary.  It was a pleasure to have Tseini on the team, and he always did his best in-game and as a teammate.  To be clear to potential teams interested in Tseini, he did absolutely nothing wrong.  He would be a valuable asset to any team looking for his skillset.   With that change, we welcome Alexandre (SPREE) to the team.  Alexandre is an exceptional young talent with a very high ceiling.  We hope giving him the support and resources of LG will allow him to focus on the game full time and unlock his potential.” – Steve Maida, CEO

The team will be moving into a gaming house in Toronto, Canada over the coming weeks. Three of Luminosity's members will participate in the upcoming Overwatch World Cup at BlizzCon, after which everyone will ramp up the preparation for future challenges and tournaments.
